WHY
She woke up this mornin’, a new day was dawnin’,
Without any warnin’ she felt her two eyes fill with tears
Drownin’ in fears
To get to the shower took over an hour
She just couldn’t get out from under the covers to rise
She swallowed a sigh
Oh….she didn’t know why
Oh….she wanted to die
When she walked in the kitchen, her husband was bitchin’
The kids they were itchin’ to eat and get on with their day…
She wanted so much to say…
Oh….I don’t know why
Oh….I just want to die (solo)
There was a cold sense of dread and a deep sense of loneliness
Nothing she tried said or did could fill up the emptiness
So when they were gone she reached for a chair
She took out a rope and arranged with care
Then she prayed for forgiveness and jumped…into the air
When he got home from work the house it was dark
He called out her name but by then she was flying away
From that terrible day and…
Oh....she had left no goodbye
Oh….he started to cry
Oh….he would never know why
Oh….she wanted to die…
